Stronger blowing a/c, heater fans??

It looks like someone would come out with a much better retro blower motor/fan for the old cars. I have a 79 Z/28 that even on high it is about
40% of what a newer cars puts out.

I don't know if this will help but a lot of Jeep CJ owners upgrade their blower motor to a 73 Blazer 350 w/AC blower. Here is a link, maybe it can put you in a direction you want to go.

Hmmm, I need to check into that myself. I'm familiar with the CJ upgrade, I have to see what I can do for the maro.

Are you sure there is no debris in the AC box or evaporator core blocking the air flow?

Yes. Overall the older stuff does no even come close to the newer car fan speed. My 05 Jeep wrangler has a motor/fan combo that looks the same size and I bet it could be put in place. Much higher rpm and fan blade design.

Re: Stronger blowing a/c, heater fans??

I just compared the squirrel cage fan for the A/C heater from my 67 Camaro against a fan from an 88 suburban with A/C. The 67 Camaro fan blade is metal of course because they used more metal in the 67s . The suburban blade is plastic and about an inch deeper, too deep to use, it hits the firewall. The number of blades and diameter looks about the same. The 67 motor is heaver that the 88. I tested the RPM as 67= 378.4 RPM, 88= 365.3 RPM.
I don’t have any others to test.
