from heat/defrost to Air Condition

what would be the pros and cons going from heat/defrost all working in 68 camaro want to put AC what would i be looking at far as additional mechanical parts labor pain headache etc?

Original style system, or a vintage air type system? Makes a huge difference in the pain and suffering. To install an original system you need to cut and patch your firewall in addition to trying to find all the parts. Vintage air only requires a couple of 1" holes (I think) to be drilled in the firewall, and then mounting the hardware.

how many diffrent parts must be added if it has just the orginal defrost/heat going now with box, is it another seperate controler and another system all together with control box and compressor ?? i suppose not duct work would be needed just buy a kit and have it installed?

rough ball park figure $1500 you think? thanks for the advice..
