heater box

I have a 68 conv. camaro that I'm putting a big block in. non A/C
Is the small block heater box under the dash the same for a big block?
I know the outside is different.

Re: heater box

Not too sure but think the heater core was different plumbing on the fire wall for BB and SB in all first gens. But the floor unit is the same BB vs SM in non AC vehicles. But check you copy of the AIM for details and part numbers.

Re: heater box

Yes, they are the same. Get a BB heater core, core tube seal with seal cover. Cut the holes in your SB blower motor cover and bolt the heater back in.

Don't forget to put block off foam to cover the SB heater core holes, it's in the heater seal kit.

While the heater is out it's a good time to replace the firewall pad if you need to. You can also see your hidden VIN under the blower fan with a mirror if you haven't checked it out yet.
