Heater Blower 69 Camaro (AC not installed)

can anyone tell me the easiest way to check why my heater fan does not come on? I checked fuse box, theres power there, I also checked the fan switch and its getting power, but only to the medium setting (will need new switch), but the fan still does not work. Also, how do I access the fan?

Re: Heater Blower 69 Camaro (AC not installed)

The fan gets its ground through the case so if you painted everything the fan may not be getting grounded. Fan access is easy. There are several screws holding it onto the outside heater case on the firewall. Unbolt and open the circular looking thing. It is the fan. With the fan out run a hot wire from the battery positive post to the one plug, put the edge of the case against the ground post of the battery and it hopefully will run.

I think AC fans are different. The AC case is fiberglass(ish) not metal, so the ground path is different. Are there two wires going to the fan? Inside the pass fender under the hood hinge.

Kevin - Thanks; can't even see the fan due to its location, but there is a black wire hanging loose between the AC case and the wheel well. Man this is going to be painful since it doesnt look like there is an easy way to reach the fan. Is removing the fender the only way? cant be done by unbolting the heater case under the dash?

Easiest way is remove the fender. Or you can take the fenderwell out. Either way is a pain.
