Fan Shroud Recommendation?

I have a new Griffin 23" radiator (GRI-8-00009). My original shroud (3893812) was too small, as it fit my old 21" radiator. i bought the 23" radiator shroud for a '67 that was for A/C (3893814) based on what i've seen some others say they've used on the forum, but because of its offset, there is no way that it will fit. The right side completely covers the inlet of the radiator.

Any recommendations? I found this half shroud at Classic that fits both small and big blocks. Anyone have experience with these?

Shroud needs to be centered just like the original shroud, only larger. Worst case is that I go back to my old one with some of the radiator not covered, but of course, this is not ideal.

Thanks.

Re: Fan Shroud Recommendation?

Pontiac Firebird shroud is centered. The 400 Firebird shroud should fit the BBC radiator, but you will need to modify the mounting to get it to fit your Camaro.

Thanks Dave. You have a part number? I'm seeing a few of different ones on search.

Re: Fan Shroud Recommendation?

So in looking at this new shroud again, I think I can just cut it to make it work. I'll take about an inch off of the fan size circular opening to make up a little bit for my long water pump. I can then hold it up to the old smaller shroud and cut the needed clearance around both hoses and petcock. I'll try not to make it look like a $150 hack job, so here we go!

Re: Fan Shroud Recommendation?

Well, after measuring again, looks like the 3812 and 3814 shrouds are the exact same size from center to the left side, so cutting it won't help, as that is where I need the extra real estate to cover the radiator. At that rate, I might as well use what I have already have.

Anyone have the model number to the Firebird 400 shroud or what year? I've searched and am only really coming up with the 70-81 Firebird shroud, but that is over 30" wide, so that can't be right. Any search for 67-69 sends me back to a Camaro shroud.
