1967 Camaro Gen IV vintage air control install question

I am installing Gen IV vintage air in my 1967 non air Camaro. Much easier install than the Gen II that was previously in my car. However, nothing is completely straight forward when installing a new kit in a 50 year old car. In the directions it states that the maximum distance that the cable converter should be showing when the rod is fully inserted should be 1/8 inch. On my hi/lo cable converter the rod is showing 1/4 inch when fully inserted. Is this an issue? Has anyone experienced something similar during an install?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
