RC 15 Radiator Cap Real or Fake

Hey Guys picked this RC 15 cap up over the summer for 10.00 at English Town. The guy who sold it to me said it was real. He said it was nos and had a M7 casting for Dec of 67. I had my doubts. For one, it's medal not stainless. Your thoughts. Thanks, Tom

Re: RC 15 Radiator Cap Real or Fake

GM / AC Delco produced that part number radiator cap for how many years, and in how many countries, and had how many suppliers manufacturing them? Until that question can be answered, I doubt that anyone will be able to answer for sure if that is actually a genuine RC15. Now, if you were to ask if that one is correct for a certain year of car produced in a specific plant, that would be a lot easier question to answer.

For instance, I have had AC spark plugs that were manufactured in England that looked a lot different than the same part number manufactured in the good old USA. Good luck with your search for the answer.

The only reason someone would want insurance is if they want to pay someone elses bills or want someone else to pay their bills.

That cap is not an assembly line correct cap for a first gen Camaro. Looks to be an aftermarket parts replacement with same part number.

Re: RC 15 Radiator Cap Real or Fake

I bought this cap at an estate sale, $3, P/N RC106, 13# with manual relief.
For the OP, agree, does look like an aftermarket replacement.
