67 Dash Ducting

I've been looking around for this info and haven't been able to find it... someone just post a link if I'm being an idiot and it's easily available. I have what I believe to be the complete set of ducts but I'm looking for a reference on installing them. My car had a/c at one point but no longer does. I'd like to just get the heater set up at least so I can run the defroster and keep driving it. The only part I know Im missing is a thermostat but I figured I would just wire in a switch on a plate in the dash for now and worry about that later.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: 67 Dash Ducting

I just installed an entire factory heater system in my 67.

The only duct you will have is for the defroster. At the (center) end of the heater case there is a small deflector to split air downward.

That's it for ducts.

Also, there is no "thermostat". Just a fan *on/off/speed* switch and a resistor to make the fan speeds work.

I can't complain, but sometimes I still do.

Re: 67 Dash Ducting

I have all dash vents and I believe all of the ducting that goes along with them however the louver doors or gates or whatever they are called that connect to the "thermostat" I was describing (hvac control interface) are all damaged and so is the controller. Will this be an issue setting up the defroster again? I'm only going to have 4 days to work on the car over thanksgiving and dont have access to it until then so Im just trying to plan ahead as much as possible

Re: 67 Dash Ducting

Are you saying you are going to use all the a/c duct work and dash vents, a 67 without a/c originally didn't have dash vents

Re: 67 Dash Ducting

If you have the 1967 AIM, just look at the C60 section.

Also, there is no "AC" thermostat, just the one for the engine.

Re: 67 Dash Ducting

At some point a previous owner put in ac and dash vents. The ac was later removed but the dash vents remain (with no ducting attached), I'm assuming when a larger radiator and separate transmission cooler were installed. I eventually will put in a vintage air system but as I have limited time and it's almost December for now I think just getting the defroster back up and running should be plenty.
