LS engines and VA solenoid

OK guys, for the record I'm installing my Vintage Air solenoid and not worrying about coolant flow with my LS3 swap. I keep reading posts where guys are stating LS engines need constant coolant flow via the water pump. The debate seems to be if the VA solenoid completely blocks off coolant flow when "off". Is there any truth to this loop theory ?? Thoughts, doubts, comments ??

I worried about this too but have since done 5 installations that way without issue. I have not seen anyone come up with a practical solution.
