Driver side kick panel vent

Hello. I have a 67 Camaro and the driver side kick panel does not have a vent. I have read where A/C Camaros do not have driver side vents. Mine does not have A/C but I don't know if it did originally. My question is: Is the venting there so I can install a Kick Panel with a vent or is it made with No venting capability.

thanks, John

Re: Driver side kick panel vent

The AC option just uses a separate plate to block off the hole in the metal structure, then a blank kick panel is used on the driver side. On the pass side the vent hole is used with the MAX AIR setting vent.

Just replace blank plastic kick panel, with one that has the vent, should fit fine.

I have a 67 A/C car. There is no block off plate. The kick has the same back construction as any other.

Scott you mean, there is no block off panel behind the plastic kickpanel. Don't you?

Re: Driver side kick panel vent

Thanks. That's what I needed to here. The other problem I have now is the A/C vents in the dash are there and have no function as I am not planning on converting to A/C. There are no holes in the firewall for vents and there is no center dash vent at all. I think the guy before me removed the vertical A/C box and replaced it with a horizontal heater box. I don't plan on touring, just cruising locally and dragging. It's a big block and not a lot of room. I may just leave the dash vents in or remove and cover the holes. I wish people would leave original stuff like it was. At least I have myself a sweet Camaro. Live to drive and drive to live. Peace.

Hmm, I guess I was thinking of something else. So I guess there was a big glob of dum-dum sealing the the plastic to the metal, sealing the vent, right?

Yes. I stock blocks of duct sealant. Easily obtained at local hardware or professional stores.
