New Edelbrock coolant leak at weep hole

Morning everyone.

I installed a new Edelbrock High Flow aluminum water pump and after driving about 20 miles I noticed a small puddle of antifreeze on the floor. It appears that I have a slow leak out of the weep hole. Could it possibly seal up after driving more? Would belt tension cause this? I hate to have to pull it off but I fear that this is what is going to happen. This makes the second new one I've had a problem with. The first one had an issue with a leak at the pipe plug on top that I couldn't get to stop.

Thanks

G'Afternoon, George, and welcome.
Yes, carbon face seal is toast - replace pump.

No it will get worse.

You probably over tightened the fan belt causing the failure; but good news is if it is a new pump Edelbrock will replace it under warranty.

Not surprised, seen it before. Out of the box. They wouldn't warranty it because it was only a 90 day warranty and as fun cars go it didn't get installed right away.
