Red face Replacing heater hoses - '68 with factory air

Was wondering if anyone has any advice for me on this one. How to replace the heater hoses on a 1968 with factory air. It almost looks like you have to take off the fender to get at the heater hoses that connect to the fitting on the firewall. The big suitcase is in the way. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

Yes it’s a big pain. You will probably have to at least loosen the inner wheel well and try to pull it down back by the heater core so you hopefully can get your arm in up through the bottom. That’s how I did my 69. Not fun 😖

While this does not apply to me Ö has anyone got PICs of this area?

Curiosity has me interested in seeing what this problem looks like.

I can't complain, but sometimes I still do.

I replaced mine few years back on the hoist. the hard to get to hose is the 5/8 one I use 3/4 hose with the clamp on it and i just guided to the pipe with a long screwdriver and tightened from the bottom on the hoist. couple years later i had the front end off at that time I replaced the hoses, heater core and fan motor all at once.
