I used champion. direct fit with no modifications. It keeps my 9.9-1 engine 175-180* on the hottest days

I would have your original one re cored unless you want a different size. Many guys feel it is better than aluminum. Of course they are cheaper and lighter.

Most of the brands fit the 1st gen fbody fine. If you are interested in an OEM look with stamped tanks and the maximum cooling core design, check out our rebate offer in the Vendor sponsor section.

Iím using a be cool ďaluminatorĒ, fits great, and has worked great also. Very affordable and well built.

I recommend doing some research on the 4 core aluminum radiators. The whole point of using aluminum is to have larger tubes with more surface area (aluminum is stronger than brass so the tubes can be larger), which is why the high end aluminum ones use 2 large rows of tubes. The 3-4 row aluminum ones may work fine in many applications, but itís smoke and mirrors.

if it works/cools, why is it smoke and mirrors? I have a friend using a 4 core on a blown 468 with 13-1 compression with no heating issues

Like I said, if your interested do some research with the best of the aluminum radiator manufacturers. Donít bother believing me, I wouldnít....

If a stock style copper brass 3 core works why waste your money on an inferior cooling material like aluminum if you are not going to utilize its benefits? If your 4 core or 3 core aluminum radiator works you could have saved money on a replacement copper brass and it would probably work better.
Smoke and mirrors.... or clever marketing. If 2 cores is good, 3 cores is better right? Regardless of tube size?

Cold Case offers 2 rows of 1.25" tubes and has polished OE style stamped tanks.
Direct fit. Even has the fan shroud clip on the bottom to attach the original shroud!
Offering $25 off radiators and $50 off fan modules right now as well!

The Cold Case looks like a quality radiator. I like the way the hose pipes are all round and not squeezed down like some others. Champion is not bad either. I have used them in V-8 LS jeep swaps.

SoCal Tom - did you use your existing belt driven fan and shroud or do you have an electric fan? If so, can you give me the info? I'm faced with the same situation in a '68. Thanks
