68 Camaro with aftermarket heads and intake - temp sending unit locato

I have a 350 in my '68 camaro with edlebrock intake maniford (performer) and summit heads. I tried to install my temp sending unit in the head position near the front spark plugs and saw that the stock sensor threads are too big. Do I need to get a different sensor or add it to the front of the intake manifold under the radiator hose? Any help will be appreciated, thanks. Trying to run console gauges by the way.

What size are the sensor threads, both on the intake and the gauge? What brand/model gauge?

If I am not mistaken, the intakes holes are 1/2 NPT which is a "normal" size for auto temp sensors. That being said, have you looked at what Autometer sells for adapters?

You could always get a later model goose neck that has provisions for the sensor in it.

It's the normal sensor (correct for a 68 camaro if you buy it from Rick's or NPD), the intake plug looks like it would fit this sensor. The plug in the head was smaller. If it is ok or normal to put it in the intake under the radiator hose, then that would work. Just wanted some validation that is a correct spot to put it.
