Question 67 camaro rad. recovery tank

I'm looking at buying a custom radiator recovery tank and need some advice on the type and location of it. Has anybody out there got some ideas and pics that could help me out. The car has a 350 sbc, auto, no A/C, is not numbers matching so I'm open to anything. More concerned with looks and functionality. Thanks.

Re: 67 camaro rad. recovery tank

...it would depend on what size/shape your custom recovery tank is.

With that said I have seen the windshield washer tank used by running the overflow hose to DS along core support.

The "tube" type I have seen mounted where PS radiator side tank area is. Looked like they made a "L" bracket attached to bottom of battery tray

Also in fender front on either side. Several ways to do this. But it all depends on what size and shape the reservoir is you are getting

Re: 67 camaro rad. recovery tank

I thought in 1967 you used a Coors beer can if you lived on the east coast and a Budweiser can if you lived on the west coast. NHRA regs required a catch can for over flow to keep the track from getting wet.

No coolant recovery can was produced before 1972 (when Federal EPA regulations required it). I don't think Chevy offer them before 1974; from memory. A 1974 Nova coolant recovery can should fit in your Camaro, but you need to change the cap to a recovery system cap as yours only flows one way; it won't allow recovery of overflow fluid.

Re: 67 camaro rad. recovery tank

I used the 75-79 Nova recovery tank on my 68. It fits nicely in the fender well behind the battery.
