anyone used the s.s. heater hoses?

has anyone had any luck using the corrugated Stainless Steel heater hoses with success? i put some on after installing a huge aluminum radiator and they leaked and I removed them and stretched the original upper one back on but it has a bend in it and the ac compressor clutch has rubbed a hole almost through it, i put a section of pvc pipe over it just to drive it to the body shop so we could paint ti, now that it is painted and I am reassembling the car i need to use the s.s. hose to be able to bend it and keep it away from the ac comp. but i can't stop the connectors from leaking, and i have tried several combinations of the silicon sleeves with no luck? and yes i have heard that the first thing you need to do is throw away the chinese hose clamps and use good ones but even that did not work.
Anyone have any tricks to get these sealed up? I see them on a lot of street rods and they appear dry???
