Heater core question

I was all set to replace the heater core in my 68 this weekend but discovered the stock one I took out was 2 inches thick and the new one was 2.5 inches thick. Looking around I don't see any 2 inch thick cores for a 68. Any ideas here?

For your 1968 Camaro, use a 100% new heater core, not a marginal recore like others sell. All heater cores listed are a direct fit factory replacement for applications without A/C and non-396 V8 cars.
