Allens Chambered Exhaust

Hello,

Wanting to know if anyone has purchased and installed the aluminized chambered exhaust from Allen's Stainless exhaust for a small block Camaro.

Thinking of getting one for my 69 SS -- the price seems right, system & hangers for $600 - just wanting some info on the fitment before I pull the trigger on getting a system.

Thanks

Mike

From what I've read, chambered exhaust systems have more restriction that a well-designed system with mufflers.

Dimpling the pipes does not decrease noise but it does impede flow.

If you want a lot of noise with less hp, buy the chambered exhaust system.

Well.......thanks for the opinion, but that's not what I asked for. It's restrictive I know, but I heard it on other Camaros and had to get one.

Don't really care about HP, my car is a garage queen and I needed a winter project to keep me busy....

For those who might be interested in this system......it finally fit after one problem.......the right-side head pipe was cut too short. I had to go to my local exhaust shop and asked them to add another 1 1/2 inches of pipe so that both head pipes end evenly under the car. (Yeah, I know I should've called Allens, but didn't feel like dealing with all the BS)

After that, it was a piece of cake - and it sounds great. So for those wanting a chambered exhaust w/o breaking the bank, this system fits the bill - even with the head pipe problem.
