Made it home

Averaged 17 MPG, with the highest being at 20.6 with the entire family and the car fully loaded. 3500 miles in 13 days and not a single repair. Thanks to Screamin Performance for the work on the rear, performed flawless and handled like a dream. Met a lot of great people and stayed at some really nice hotels and two crappy ones. The wagon received far more complements than the car and the long hauler prize lacked some proof reading...... it's ok, just adds character. Plenty more pics to come. Looking forward to doing it again.

Re: Made it home

My personal favorite picture of the tour. Long Haulers closing ceremony. Instead of waiting in line we sat there and watched everyone leave.

Re: Made it home

Visiting Detroit Speed was a highlight. Super nice guys and the cleanest shop I have ever been in. Got to follow the Gen 2 test car for a couple of hours. Probably the baddest car I have ever seen on the street minus The Mule. I couldn't hear my car over his at the stop lights.

Re: Made it home

Corky Coker knows how to throw a party. Several streets were closed down and it was one of the biggest street parties I have ever seen. Corky and the city of Chattanooga welcomed us with open arms. He was wondering around the crowd talking with anyone willing. Super nice guy and an awesome collection. His barn find cars are the coolest thing I have ever seen

Re: Made it home

Sitting in line at Memphis getting to see a little bit of everything. Great show but a complete cluster getting parked. Wasn't too bad for me because I have a/c and no problems running hot. There were MANY cars that were not as fortunate and had to pull out of line and park it.

Re: Made it home

As good as the shows are the hotels at night are better. The majority of my new friends were met at the hotels in the evenings.

Re: Made it home

It would take me all night to post half the pictures I got.
Here is what I learned,
-taking two vehicles with a two and four year old is much easier than taking one.
-Rutledge Wood is much smaller in person, super nice guy and just as goofy.
-Kevin Byrd is much taller in person and a bit on the shy side
-Scrape from Tap Out is a super cool dude.
-Courtney Hanson looks much better on Tv and much nicer, lost all respect for her.
-Bryan Fuller is always smiling and the Edelbrocks are really nice.
-I am sure I met a few more and didn't know it.
-No more Days Inn, it's worth the extra few dollars for the better hotels

Re: Made it home

Looks like a great time! 2 little one's and the wife in a Camaro? Brave, brave man! Reminds me of someone else I know.
I'd love to do the Tour one of these years...
