We are in, my logistics assistant is securing us lodging as I write this reply. Now the next question, should we consider cruising down in the classics, or should we leave em locked up at home safe and secure?

Awesome! Have Kathleen check the Hyatt Mohegan NOT the casino (the Casino is $499 per night ). We have a room Wed and Thurs night at the Hyatt....only .8 mile from the Casino for $139 a night AAA rate.

I am HOPING that taking the Camaro down will be an option.

Done and done, same arrangements for us. We may go down earlier and hit Ground Up as I have a gift certificate I need to use before it expires. I should have used it the day Dan and I went down and picked up all the sheet metal for his 73 last year but it was temporarily MIA however it has since been located.

Awesome. We can coordinate plans as it gets closer, but seeing how I haven't visited Ground Up yet, I wouldn't mind stopping by with you.

Re: Barrett-Jackson Northeast - Mohegan Sun June 23-25th

Was thinking of taking a trip with the wife for this(bucket list trip for me and she is a gambler!, win/win), but can only make it for Sat. Just looked at the rates at the Hyatt Mohegan and they are definitely not as good as $139 on Sat. Was $399! Looked at the Cristata Inn too which is alittle better at $255. Both have shuttles to the casino

Yeah, $399...that's nuts. That is the rate at the actual Casino Hotel Friday-Saturday too. That's why we are going Wed-Thurs and leaving Friday afternoon. We'll miss the "big dollar" cars go across the block, but I'd rather see the the "cheaper" stuff anyway.

This was on our bucket list too and my wife also likes the casino...so same win/win here. When we heard about it yesterday and realized we no longer would need to fly out West, we immediately booked tickets.

Let us know if you make it earlier in the week.

Phil

Will do. If we pull the trigger on this trip, most likely will be sat only due to work but if we make it earlier in the week will definitely post back here.

I am going down over the weekend. I really have no interest in seeing the "cheap cars". If I'm going to make the effort to go (I already have my tickets), I want to see the primetime stuff.

To me, going to see the "cheap cars", would be like going to a big car show and just spending time looking at the cars in the parking lot instead.

If someone was planning on buying a car, then things would be different, but at Scottsdale the entry price started at $450.00 (on the cheaper end) just to get a bidding paddle and I can't see Mohegan being to much different, so I think I'll pass on that.

I can appreciate that, to each his own! Some guys like amateur night and others like porn star night, I guess it all depends on what you want to see.

We did the "big weekend" at Mecum Kissimmee, FL last year which was fun, but we had wished we had seen the "reasonable" priced stuff cross the block, the days prior.

For me, the much smaller crowds, $139 hotel vs. $399, the excitement of potentially being able to buy something and gauging pricing on the realistic end of the classic car market is more interesting to me than seeing the hype of the "big cars" cross the block on Friday-Saturday. And those cars will still be there to see, we just wont see them cross the block. The price they sell for is irrelevant to me as they are all unobtaineum.

Phil

Re: Barrett-Jackson Northeast - Mohegan Sun June 23-25th

I'd be interested in going, but I'm afraid I'd end up bidding on something that I have no where to store. I agree though, I'd like to see the stuff that's in my price range, and the "bargains" that go across the block. "Numbers matching" and "show car" are not in my wheel house!

You!ll need to register as a bidder and pay the $9000 minimum deposit or satisfy one of the other qualification requirements. $9000 gets you a bid authorization of up to $90000.
