Re: Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Nov 18 & 19

It's sad there has not been any replys to this thread but yesterday we arrived at the MCACN. We got here at about 2:00 pm and got moved in by 5:00 pm. If you are able to make the show we will be in the CLASS OF 67 display. Today is a detailing day to get the Camaro ready for the show. Hope to see some of you guys come Saturday or Sunday at the show.

Below is the view of the Stephion Convention Center we have from our hotel room in Rosemont.

Hope to post more pictures later.

It is sad to see that most car events and shows have attendants that are all older, I fear without the next gen being into the hobby it will fade away.

I was at this show two years ago. It was terrific, snow and all.

I'm not an old guy yet. Took my 11 year old son, he had a blast.

I've observed the same thing. I went to a large swap meet a couple of weekends ago and nearly every attendee and seller was baby boomer generation or older, few kids. I guess the younger set only likes front wheel drive cars with bumble bee exhausts and big stereos or are happy to spend the day playing with their phone or video game of choice, no mechanical interests or skills whatsoever. Doesn't bode well for the future of the hot rod/muscle car hobby or the future value of these cars. A lot of the cars (not all) rolling through the BJ and Mecum auctions don't even bring the cost of the paint and interior work and those don't seem to be purchased by younger guys; very sad.

For less and less people such as the younger generation they would rather not even drive(why self driving cars are getting popular). Which I might enjoy when i get too old to drive. For now it's an addiction for me.
I am enjoying the h.p. wars like everyone of us baby boomers.Thank goodness I am able to hold onto my toys for now and that I am not relying on them to pay for my retirement. Besides while I can still drive I enjoy people's faces that have never gone for a ride in a high horsepower big block car.
