Re: Washer bottle

The factory bottle was milk opaque white, with black cap.

Re: Washer bottle

Same with mine, factory original, opaque white (yellowish) with some overspray. Black doesn't sound right to me.

Re: Washer bottle

Yeah corporate use across all the Chevrolet lines was this milk bottle white, not sure if any of the other GM lines in this time period did anything different.
Black is kind of an odd ball choice. OptiKleen is Windex blue and you could easily see the level of fluid in the bottle. Black would prevent that I would think.

Re: Washer bottle

I know the black plastic jars were used on some 1st Gen Firebirds. I have the original on my '68 and it is black. (I've owned my '68 for 50 years.) I recall 1st Gen Bird discussions indicating both colors may have been used by the factory.

AMES, a leading Pontiac-only parts vendor sells both color jars, however, the black part is listed with the description, "WE HAVE PREDOMINANTLY SEEN BLACK WASHER BOTTLES USED ORIGINALLY ON 1967-1969 FIREBIRDS."

FYI, That First Gen Firebird site is at firstgenfirebird.org not .com so that is why you might be getting strange results.

This is one of the discussions on that subject at that site: https://firstgenfirebird.org/forums/...=167236&page=1

Re: Washer bottle

I have only seen the white or opaque white bottles on GM cars over the years.

Re: Washer bottle

My 15,000 original mile Camaro has a white jug. Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know a good way to remove staining from said white jug?

Re: Washer bottle

Maybe "Lime Away" or even muriatic acid? Whether or not they will do the trick neither one will harm plastic.

If it's dirt/grime on the outside, cleanser and a brush work well

if on the inside try CLR and a bottle brush
