Re: Vegas needs to save this guy

Heís legit. He has been thoroughly vetted on the pro-touring forum.

Bit optimistic thinking $30-50k will finish it if you pay someone to do the work imho...

Re: Vegas needs to save this guy

It's amazing to think he has sunk a quarter of a million dollars and still not at the finish line.

Re: Vegas needs to save this guy

It's crazy how shops can screw people like this. There's so many stories out there. He doesn't explain what he got for $77k from Poor Boys but it sounds like he got taken to the cleaners.

Having $200k in a completed car is something a lot of guys have done, the problem is that car doesn't sell for $200k when it's finished, hell it might not even sell for much more than $100k finished. GLWS, sorry for your loss.

Re: Vegas needs to save this guy

No one embarks on a build like this with the expectations that the end result would sell for what was spent. Not really a whole lot different than purchasing a new car, or a new boat, or a swimming pool or....

Doing your own labor can work but paying someone to build it, highly unlikely....

Re: Vegas needs to save this guy

The classic example of why if one does not have the skills to build such a car with a " limited " budget as this guy has, ( it's a larger budget but still selling due to money) one should not build at all. He would have been far better off driving the wheels off the original car and upgrading the stuff he has the skills or money to upgrade. I fall in the camp ( and I know it pisses some off...o well the truth is self evident) if you don't truly have the budget or knowledge of what is being done to keep within a realistic budget for a car of this caliber one should just stay away from this style of build. Many guys that complete this ( paying to have done)type of car then find out when maintenance or other issues pop up few want to work on it and the one that paid to have it built does not have the skills to do much of anything with the car... good luck to him... he won't be the last as there is a never ending stream of these stories here, and at every single little home town cruise.
