Is there a grommet for the brake boosters shaft at the firewall? My brake shaft has a boot over it as seen in the picture but does not seem to like to stay in the firewall hole nor does it seem to seal it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
You do not have a factory booster. You may have to make something. The original had like a foam ring. Don't think it would help you. Maybe a bead of seam sealer or something along those lines.
Someone has shimmed that booster with a bunch of washers. It is normally angled up. Not sure why, maybe they are using the manual brake hole on the pedal. If the shims were gone it might seal better.
Wondering why all those washers. Is it possible the front edge of the MC is hitting the hood when closing and had to be adjusted? That whole set up looks long.
Probably using the spacers instead of cutting the rod. Who knows what it originally came off of. The master cylinder looks of the 70-80s era. Booster looks aftermarket.
Maybe thats why the previous owner used the washers, I'm not around it to measure at the moment. I plan on running a new master and possibly booster once its up and running. Just a timing thing so I can also do new front disk brakes, lines and front suspension.
