Re: 67 Camaro - CPP Spindles, C6 Z06 Brakes, 17" Rallye Wheel. Questi
I have C5 Corvette 13" front brakes with a 17" wheel on my '69, but I don't know if the Z06 brakes/calipers you are asking about are larger than the C5 brake caliper/rotor combination I have. My wheels flare toward the hub near the outside of the spokes where they meet the hoop and this caused a slight clearance problem with my C5 calipers that could only be cured with a thin spacer. I'm assuming by "brake cut wheel" John is talking about a uniformly flat hoop with spokes that meet the hoop at 90 degrees on the inside of the wheel thus maximizing the clearance for the caliper. You will find a larger choice in tires with 18" wheels vs. 17" wheels, but wheel size is a personal preference and fitment decision. You're definitely not going to get those big brakes on a 15" wheel you mentioned.
