Rear bumper to quarter panel inside trunk reinforcement- 69 Camaro

I need some experts to chime in on this one. Is this round reinforcement an original part and is every car supposed to have it? If so, can someone please post some pics of their original, untouched trunk space where the corner bumper bolt, bolts through the trunk brace, through the quarter and into the bumper bracket?

All the major first gen parts suppliers seem to sell this and the description says they are often forgotten and not replaced when a new quarter or patch is put on a car. I have seen 69 Camaro's that do have it and I've seen others that don't. I am looking for a definitive answer and appreciate any help you can give.
I attached a picture of a guy I know that has an original 69 Camaro and does have the reinforcement which is sandwiched between the welded on trunk brace and the inside of the quarter panel where the corner of the bumper would bolt up.
I have also seen them where the round reinforcement is there but the welded on trunk brace is not (This doesn't seem correct to me though).
Thanks!

John

Re: Rear bumper to quarter panel inside trunk reinforcement- 69 Camaro

Interesting. I would also like to know the answer to this. My 69 does not have them but the 1/4's were replaced before I got the car.

My 69 X66 project.

They should be there, as well as the quarter reinforcements and the quarter window braces. Many people omit one or all. I've seen this numerous times in decades of restoration.
