09 camaro versions

I'm wondering how many versions there's gonna be. Is GM gonna do it like all the rest of there cars with a basic 4 version system?
Ls
Lt
Ltz
Ss

I heard a rumor they were gonna bring back the z28 name. If they do that which version is technically the highest and best version? The ss or the z28?

Thumbs up Re: 09 camaro versions

I don't think you will see LS-LT-LTZ on any of the new Camaros.

Re: 09 camaro versions

I heard the rumor that they would have a de-stroked LSx engine to 302CI for the Z/28. I don't know that to be true but it would be cool.

Re: 09 camaro versions

I think it's super chevys latest issue that is touting the inside scoop on how it will be equipped. I'll post back later when I get home and can reference my copy...

Re: 09 camaro versions

OK, not super chevy, it is in CHP... Their claims are this is from an inside GM source.

* 2 V6's
* LS3 with L92 heads installed in the Z/28 making 400-450hp.
* talk about a 550hp version of the Z mill using a roots style blower.

The mag mentions the LS series mill being 6.0L but most of the web talk I've seen says 6.2L

For what it's worth - I have a phone meeting with GM next Friday to discuss the LS3; so, if there's any particular question you'd like answered, let me know and I'll print it as I'm allowed.
