The ULTIMATE engine debate---2009 Camaro

Hello All,

Lets assume your long lost uncle Gus passed away yesterday at 102 years of age and willed you $75 grand to be used to purchase a 2009 Camaro.

Now you walk into the dealer showroom and tell the salesman THIS is the engine that I WANT!!

The choices for your engine's are

1) 302 DZ
2) 327 L84 fuel injected
3) 350 LT1
4) 396 L78
5) 427 L72
6) 427 L88
7) 427 ZL1
8) 454 LS6
9) 454 LS7 (the answer to the ZL1??)
10) None of the above--(you can enter your own choice here like a ZR-1 engine, ZO6 engine or other engine out of another GM vehicle)

There will be those who say give me as much power as possible. There will be others who say the 454 LS7 & 427 ZL1 were race only engines and should not be driven on the street. In any case----Let The ULTIMATE ENGINE DEBATE begin!!

Re: The ULTIMATE engine debate---2009 Camaro

I thought about it long and hard. What the heck, I voted for what else? The ZL1...I love 427's!! . Even the Ford 427's were legends!! And I voted 3rd.

Why isn't the LS3 on the list? I'd take have the stock '09 Z28 LS3 over everything on that list...

Re: The ULTIMATE engine debate---2009 Camaro

??? kinda silly choices for a 2009... Not that there is anything wrong with being silly. I moved this here since the Engine forum is for for technical questions.

No problem Dennis.

Rodder, ah but the LS3 or LS1, 8.1 L or GNX engine or anything else not on that list is in fact on that list. It's choice 10---None of the above.

Re: The ULTIMATE engine debate---2009 Camaro

620 horses in an '09 Camaro would be nice, but before I start insanely souping up my '09, 'I'd like to see what changes they make in the '10, '11, '12, etc. Not to mention thinking about 10 years or more into the future there might be a 6th generation.
