Weird noise

Just got my first camaro. It's a 2012 ls 6 spd. I hear this thumping noise when I'm in first gear and I touch the clutch to switch gears. Anyone have this problem or know what this sound is?

Re: Weird noise

Well I would drop it off at Dealer and have them diagnose it, has a warranty?

Re: Weird noise

Sounds like either a sticky clutch or your not fully disengaging the clutch and the gears are rubbing when you shift, should shift with clutch at least 1/2 depressed or more depending on engine speed. Slam-shifting, is not good as is running the clutch. Though some times you just got to do what you got to do.

Re: Weird noise

No, the driveline in these cars does that. It will always make that noise and its nothing to be concerned about. Obviously hard to diagnose on the interweb, but I'm pretty confident I know the noise you are talking about. As mentioned its smart to take it in. Mine does it too.

Re: Weird noise

Differential clunk, maybe? Isn't that normally a result of slamming the vehicle into gear?

Sometimes throw out bearings make some weird noises.

I would definitely take it in for inspection, especially because you are under warranty.
