Get the SES light to go out.

is there a way to simulate the rear O2 sensors to satisfy the computer?

Re: installed headers now how do I

My info is pertinent to 4th gens but should be relevant to 5th gens also.

Did you install Long Tubes or shorty headers? I'll assume LT's.

I assume you have O2 sensors in the header collector or (preferably) in the pipe beyond that (about 6" or so from the collector). They make simulators for the rear but the better bet is to simply tune them out (turn them off) so they don't register. All the rear O2 sensors do is measure catalytic converter efficiency so they are not required for the PCM to work. Since you put on headers I assume you have some sort of tunner program (HPTuners or similar - NOT a hand held as it probably doesn't have enough function to do what is required which is to retune the engine F/A mixture, timing, knock sensitivity, etc and delete from the PCM's feed whatever was deleted. Note: Timing and F/A adjustment is best done on a DynoJET or Mustang dyno or similar).

As I stated you'll want to turn the rear O2's off.

Next question: Was that all the SES light was on for? Did you log any and all codes?

More info may be required to diagnose what the problem is...

I think the Tremec TR6060 can take some abuse. The axle half shafts will go before the trans. Focus there and enjoy the 3 pedals!

Re: installed headers now how do I

There were 3 different models of the 6060 available and GM went with the lowest rated one, because it suited their purpose. They are rated to handle around 450 lb ft of torque, other sites and research suggests they can handle 600. Hard to say which is true. At any rate, you should be fine on a small spray like 100hp. I have raced many standards, my tremec tko 600 5 speed sits behind a 575 hp 383, and it blows the clutch off before it even thinks of breaking the tranny. Tremec makes track tested quality transmissions. You should be fine. have fun.
