New owner

Just bought a 2010 today for my wife. Anything I need to know from the start? I'm leaving it stock for as long as I can stand it. It's a 2SS silver with black accents. Very low miles. Thanks for any input.

Re: New owner

It's not about lack of support! The focus here is 1st gen Camaro so there isn't a large group of 5th gen folks here that would have 1st hand experience to provide you what you are looking for "Anything I need to know from the start?". Unlike other sites the bs is kept to a minimum here and most would choose not to speculate or feed you a line just to make conversation. That means a thread like this one might take a few days before someone with knowledge to answer your question sees it.

Re: New owner

Just read, so if you come back, i can tell you quite a bit more than those duramax boys pertaining to this particular car. I have 2, had 3, one got totaled on thursday. Is it a auto car? If it is, there are several things that you can do to liven it up.

1. Have the transmission tuned, in the computer. The car is designed to be quick smooth shifting car. This means that the computers cuts fuel on the beginning and the end of a shift. In fact, it cuts it to somewhere between 70%-75%. Tuning this out of the trans, will cut .2-.3 of a second of your quarter mile times.

2. The drive by wire on these also ramps into throttle even when you mash it. There is a company that can sell you a chip to put in to make it operate more like a pedal. Meaning it will ramp exactly like you push it. When you floor it the way that it is now, it actually takes quite a bit of time for the throttle body to respond. The performance chip will react nearly instantaneously. This will function for either a manual or auto car.

Just a couple of things to look at, i have many many more things you can do to wake these up.

Re: New owner

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to sound like a jack ***. It's a manual to start off. Not too happy about the throw but already in the process to change that. Do y'all recommend anything besides b&m?

Re: New owner

This one is a little bit more expensive around 400, but is very nice. .5 in shorter, works with factory equipment, and 40% shorter throw.

You duramax guys know your stuff, no disrespect intended. Nothing like seeing a 4 wheel drive smoke show.

Haha lol yea mines nothing crazy. Good tow truck and a blast to drive haven't got it on rollers yet since winter mods but it should roughly be making 500ish hp and 1000ish ft lbs! Will outrun mustangs at least. They don't like it either lol
