2010 Camaro SS three stage build ideas.

I have just purchased a 2010 Camaro SS and having little experience adding after market parts or anything similar I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where to begin to modify this vehicle.

My ultimate goal for the car would be stage three which is a supercharger on the vehicle. However after doing a little research I've found that there is a lot more involved with that than just bolting on the supercharger and hitting the road.

A few things that I've read which may or may not be true are strengthening the rear end of the vehicle to handle the added rwhp, and other upgrades to handle the extra power such as new headers, exhaust etc.

Any help on how to turn this into a three stage project would be very helpful and any parts you may be able to recommend would again be very helpful to me. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2010 Camaro SS three stage build ideas.

Is your car an automatic or an M6?
My car is a turbo car and many of my buddys have supercharged cars. What part of the country are you in ?

My car has a T76 mm turbonetics turbo 499/557 at the tire. Ive been through a lot with 5thgens feel free to pm me any questions.

Our motors and drivetrains hold up pretty well. The cars ive seen start to brake rears driveshafts etc... are all right around 640 rwhp cammed supercharged etc...

The ls motors will handle 550 rwhp as long as you have everything properly tuned
You can add a blower but then the suspension should be addressed, trailing arms toe links subframe bushings etc.... Also with all that power a wider foot print is a help too.
Plus a better fuel pump.
Like any other car once you start messing with it it never stops. I started with a cold air intake and it spiraled out of control from there

this is my money pit here

Re: 2010 Camaro SS three stage build ideas.

Congrats and I wish you the best. The 5th Gen camaro's are very nice.

Sounds like you have a cool plan for your car.

I am not familiar with upgrading 5th Gen's but with the 4th gens there were a few upgrades needed to slap on the procharger.

You needed to upgrade the rear, the trans, suspension and then decide on cam and possibly heads.

Exhaust is a must on any car. Headers should be your first upgrade before you did a SC. Headers, high flow cats or cat deletes, bullet mufflers etc etc.

Not necessarily on the headers. Or heads, for that matter. I have one in my shop right now with stock manifolds, stock heads, near stock cam, thats making 850 to the tires at 28 psi.
