Lightbulb $1000 deposit put on 2010 convertible or 2009?

I just dropped a g" deposit on a new Camaro convertible , called about a coupe they said they where backedup w/ deposits but just found out they could start taking them on the convertible model today(is it luck or am I a sucker?). Dealer said not sure if it will be an 09 or a early 2010 but I was the first deposit at there dealership and they are the largest GM dealer in the northwest. guess we will see, after a lonnnnng wait. I think if you missed the coupe for a deposit you may slide in on a convertible that no one is talking about yet! p.s. anyone have any info on production year for convertible. see ya !

I think you have been had my friend... GM recently put the hamer down on dealers taking advance deposits and to my knowledge there has been no info on a ragtop released from GM.

What price did you agree to? I'm not saying the dealer stole your grand but he now has your money for a year plus and you don't have any bargining power other than to pay what the dealer asks for the car which could be thousands over msrp...

I just bought an 07 escalade from them at invoice last month for the wife and 2) 06 duramax's before that , they are a invoice selling dealer(they live off the 3% kick back from the factory). He did say most likely invoice +$200.00 (two hundrend over invoice ) but no more then msrp. No price was talked about. I know this is very early but time flys!

There is generally a 8 to 10% difference between invoice and MSRP. I think you will be very lucky to just pay MSRP. Once the newness of the new Camaro dies down, then prices will start to fall below MSRP.

Dealers are greedy on the new stuff. I remember going in to ask for a donation for our camaro show not lon g after they anounced the cancelation of the 4th gen. The sales mgr explained the Camaro was dead and had no time to talk to me. Now they want to be our buddies.
