Ok so I am sure this has been covered a couple hundred times but I think I might be able to scavenge up some $s for a more upgrades and one of them is the big one - swap out the old sbc gen 1 350.
I'm was thinking rebuild my 350 into a 383 stroker this winter or a big part of me says go LS. If I went LS I am pretty sure I'd at least start with the carb setup as I get that, and it'd give me an upgrade path to fuel injection for later if I had more $s, time, and interest. Besides I don't want to ever "finish" this project so it is good to have more options down the road.
I know the 383 upgrade would be cheaper/HP (unless I can get sell my 350 for a few bucks) but something about the LS option that attracts me. So my question is this, who is running an LS with a carb and what are your experiences? I was thinking either a 5.3 or 5.7 as that seems to be a good price point for me.
Anybody running an LS with the Muncie 4-speed and have any experiences to share?
It's not just about power but I am looking for 400+ hp and I am thinking $5000 budget range but again that depends if my bike sells, and, and, and..... as I said Friday dreaming...... I know I can easily get that the cheapest from the 383 upgrade and have explored that option fairly well. Was thinking that is the way I'd go but really curious about the LS options and thoughts you all have.
