My LSA Powered 69 Camaro

Hi I'm new to this forum. It looks like this is the right place for Pro Touring related posts.

My son and I just had our ultimate dream car built.

Today my son Dan is a professional car designer. Our 69 Camaro is what inspired his career when we bought it way back when he was in high school. Over the years, we refined it with different drive trains and various upgrades.

This time, he came up with a new design that marries much of the 2013 ZL1 Camaro without spoiling the timeless look of the 69 Camaro.

We had a shop named V8TV build the car to Dan's design. We utilized the carbon fiber hood insert from the ZL1 by fabricating a steel hood cowl to accept it.

The engine is an LSA crate engine with some upgrades.

The grill is Dan's own design that pays tribute to the 5th Gen Camaros.

Here is Dan's rendering for our car:

Here are some pics of the car from when it was first unveiled at SEMA in November 2013:

We are very happy how much the finished car looks exactly like the renderings Dan did.

Cool Re: My LSA Powered 69 Camaro

Welcome Lou, I've been following your build on another board.

Truly a benchmark Camaro!

The grill is a work of art as is the rest of the car.

Really nice job- very creative with the hood and it turned out nice. I'm still trying to talk me into the Chip Foose designed stripes for mine... that's child's play on the bravery scale when it comes to shaking things up- you did it well.

Re: My LSA Powered 69 Camaro

Very nice looking Camaro. I loved looking at the hood mod over on the other forum. It really makes your car look mean. Great job of blending new and old school without losing the first gen styling. Congratulations on going to SEMA. I’m sure it really performs with that engine also.

Re: My LSA Powered 69 Camaro

Thank you for the compliments! To be honest, I was afraid people on this site may not appreciate pro touring Camaros since there is so much activity and info for correct restorations here. Of course, I love factory correct restorations too!

The build threads, including videos V8TV made during the build are here:

Just stay out of the Restoration Corner forum and you'll be alright.
