67 RS - Pro-Touring

Hey all,

I am proud to say I am a new owner of a car that I wanted since I was 8 years old. I wasn't totally sure if I should post here in pro-touring or I should post in project updates. So the moderator is welcome to move it if need be.

I realize for you Camaro purists that this may be a big no no as I wanted to go with the pro-touring look. A black 67 RS Camaro. Since I was a little kid watching Better Off Dead and the seen where he cleans up his 67 and the garage door slowly opens to reveal that RS grill. Bad ***. I will never forget that seen. Now it is something that I relive each time I go for a drive.

For the past year and a half I have looked daily on the net for the right car for me. After driving to a few states and looking at about 20 of them. I even lost a deposit and a flight ticket for one. But it all worked out in the end.

After having identical twin girls in December I thought for sure that it just wasn't in the cards. But it just goes to show that hard work pays off.

Here are a few images of the car

I hope to post updates as I continue to evolve the car. I am also so I will be reaching out for help as I am pretty handy but this is my first old car. Its been ton of fun to work on so far.

Thank you all in advance and feedback and helpful hints are always welcome.

Thanks again
Kris

Re: 67 RS - Pro-Touring

Very nice car, love to see more pictures of it. Nothing wrong with the pro-touring look or setup. I'm doing similar with my 67 SS, its my car and I will do what makes me happy not building it for someone else.

Re: 67 RS - Pro-Touring

fI agree with you Rich. How is your build coming along? Its the look I have been looking for for a long long time. Finally scraped up enough money to grab my dream and its been a blast. There are a few odds and ends that I have been replacing and will be replaced at a later date. I am still working on a couple tune issues that the people on another forum have been a huge help with.

Here are a few more:

Re: 67 RS - Pro-Touring

Why would you ruin a perfectly good Camaro like that. Can you return it to stock? Just what the world needs...Another Black '67 Pro-Touring Camaro. There so "last year".

Just kidding, great looking car and welcome to the club. Looks like we have similar taste!

Re: 67 RS - Pro-Touring

Thanks Kirt,

I have also read through that whole thread as well. Great build and great story. I have been reading each build on this website for years. Glad to finally be able to have some posts rather than just drool over everyone elses. Mine may not be a build per say but its fun either way.

Nice looking Camaro! Are you anywhere near the Florida panhandle? I love black RS Camaros, but I'm partial.

Hey Brian. I actually live in the Orlando area. I lived in Tallahassee for 6 years though. Love it up there.
