New Rumor on 2016 Camaro Based on 1970 Model

Do you think that the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro could wear an exterior design inspired by the 1970 Camaro?

That is the rumor and may be a very interesting one.

I think that would be way cool. Then they would have to most popular Camaros, 69 and 70. If they do go with the 70, I sure would like to see 70's type style seats.

It would be interesting to see what they could come out with IF they went /go this route.

Edit: Im thinking this might one or a rendering someone did as a 'what if'?
IMO front end looks nice, from this angle I think the rear spoiler needs to be taller to help balance the look out.

Wow, that is a nice Camaro! If they could drop some weight along the way it would be even better. I've always really liked the second gens. Cheers, Fred

Ive always like the early and late second gens. Never a fan of the mid second gens, you know the ones they put the truck bumpers on.

I would order it today, have a 69 and a 71, looks like the 2016 will have
a bigger back window like the 2nd gen. 2nd gen rollers are getting harder
to find at a decent price.

Would it change your mind knowing that they're going to offer a turbo four?

Re: New Rumor on 2016 Camaro Based on 1970 Model

I've always liked the 2nd gen. That said, I don't think GM/Chevy will commit to a radical redesign. With the 2015 changes and NASCAR looking to replace the SS body (for Sprint Cup, Nationwide already using it) coupled with a fanatical, and well established following of the current body style, I don't see it.
It is a nice rendering, although I'm not so sure that it is aerodynamic enough. Kinda reminds me of a "Vegamaro".

Yes, GM needs to compete with the retro Challenger and the Hulk just doesn't cut it.

How long are the big 3 going to milk these body styles for? Eventually they will become dated and when the first examples start getting worn out, they will take on a 2nd rate kind of opinion(nice way of saying trailer trash car). The rendering isnt much different then the current car. It looks like the same car with just mild sheet metal revisions.
