1970 Rear Seat Support Panel

Hi All
Looking for any help with the Rear Seat Support Panel for my friends 1970 Camaro Z-28.

He bought the car and it has been cut out for soem unknown reason.

We believe it would be the same for any Early 2nd Gen Camaro or Firebird.
I borrowed a Picture from another site to show what is missing.

Its the Support between the Floor Panel and Rear Package Shelf assy that has the Upper Back Seat Hooks.
Thanks
Timmy

Wow. I have the same problem. Not sure if the previous owner wanted to tub the car or put a huge speaker box there. I hope you have luck finding the piece you need. I will probably just end up making one out of some sheetmetal.

Re: 1970 Rear Seat Support Panel

Good luck finding one; but, I don't think anything other than a 70 model would be 100% correct.

The long slot on the front of speaker panel is for the rear defroster, and it mounts to the seat divider panel. I am pretty sure it was a one year thing. My Son's 70 has a rear defroster, and his buddy's 73 is an oval cutout in the middle of the speaker panel like my 69 does. The defroster on the 70 is ducted from the odd shaped indent behind the drivers rear seat. That is where the actual motor mounts, and the fan sits in the round hole in the indent.

Best bet would probably be an Arizona Classic Parts yard...Good Luck!

If you have lots of land you could buy a cheap 70 parts car and cut what you need.

Re: 1970 Rear Seat Support Panel

Not from a 70, but if you only need the seat divider and you aren't looking for 100% originality, this might work...
