Just don't use the pleated K&N filter top. It really does take away a sizable amount of HP.
Get a domed lid from Moroso or a T/A.
It really will flow more air that way.

A couple of garbage can lids with a few rivets over a Morroso deep pan - Carb is an NASCAR 830 Dp Annular over an Edelbrock 2 Plane Air Flow Intake and bolt on LT1 Scoop - 7000RPM 625 Hp 460ci SR MK IV BBC / 70Z 28/ M21/331 12 Bolt Posi.
