75 Camaro wiring issue

Hey everyone I have an issue with the buzzer in the car. Whenever I hook the battery up the buzzer inside the car comes on and stays on. I noticed it one day when I was outside next to the garage, not sure how long it was on or what caused it.

Any tips or ideas are appreciated.

Re: 75 Camaro wiring issue

My first guess is the switch that activates the buzzer in the steering column is damaged. Second choice is the wires are shorted someplace between the column and the buzzer.

The wires in the column are pink with black tracer and a black wire at the end of the T/S connector. If the black wire has continuity to ground with the door shut that is likely the problem. The pink with black comes from the buzzer to the switch in the column the Black wires goes to the door jamb switch on the drivers door (to ground when door is opened).

Re: 75 Camaro wiring issue

Just changed out the switch last month. Assuming you're meaning the ignition switch. I'll follow the wires and see if it's shorted out anywhere. Thanks.

There is a key buzzer switch in the column. It may have been damaged at the time of the switch replacement or when the steering wheel was changed if the T/S switch was remov ed. The key buzzer switch is somewhat fragile.

This says Corvette but I believe they are all the same... check into it if you have to purchase one.
