parking lights not working on my 1974 camaro

Hey everyone...I just joined here and thought maybe someone could help me out with a problem. I have a 1974 Camaro and my parking lights wont come on. I have replaced the head light switch and the dimmer switch, the headlights work fine but the parking lights wont come on with switch in any position. However if I use a jumper wire on the plug they all come on....Any suggestions????

Welcome, Lou, I moved your question to Second Gen in getting more readership.
No harm, no foul.
Back to your problem,
if you have taken the switch plug off the headlamp switch, and jumpered from the red wire (power) to the brown wire for parking lights, and lights work, then switch is at fault, I would think.

Re: parking lights not working on my 1974 camaro

It never occurred to me he jumpered it at the switch.... No mention of checking fuses or if the dash lights work. If in fact he did jumper at the switch he needs to determine why there is no circuit thru the switch and then trace it to the front (or rear) from there. I wonder if there is a terminal on the switch that matches the brown wire in the connector.

Re: parking lights not working on my 1974 camaro

fuses are all good...I haven't checked the dash lights yet because I have the whole dash out at this moment. I replaced the switch twice already. all I can think to do is jump the running lights to the head lights, so the first pull on switch wont do anything but both will work on second pull. I have checked all the wiring and grounds...it makes no sense but I am hoping while the dash is out I find the problem

If you have replaced the switch twice with new I doubt that is your problem. Have checked the brown wire for power as it leaves the switch?
