73 Outer Wheelhouse fitment

73 Camaro TYPE LT.

I have a pair of outer wheelhouses. I searched the site for hours but haven't found what I am trying to understand.

I will try to post pictures tonight (blocked from hosting site in work) but here is the issue.

I bought a pair of wheelhouse from Ground Up. The labels are different and the flanges are different when comparing right side to left side.

The LH wheelhouse fits against the inner wheelhouse very well and the flange lines up all around. It will take a little work but I can see if fitting just fine.

The RH one has a wider flange and crinkles in it. The bottom of the flange where is meets the rocker will have to be cut off to make it fit. Even worse, when I hold the right side up against the inner, the radius seems different to me. This will require more work than I would expect to make it fit.

Anyone else see this? Is there another vendor that might have a RH Wheelhouse that is more like the LH I have? Is this just the way it is and I really have to try and make this one work?

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Dan

Re: 73 Outer Wheelhouse fitment

Well Scott, it really looked like it was the wrong part. That is how bad the fit is and the flanges on left and right side were different. So, my friend stopped by there and they brought another one out and they also checked to see if there was another vendor's product they might carry and they did not. They brought another one out and it was the same. Then he had them bring out an inner wheelhouse to match it up and that is when the different radius was obvious. No one seem to have an answer except that the repop is that bad.

Re: 73 Outer Wheelhouse fitment

I can post pictures on Sunday night or Monday. My friend is from NY and has the wheelhouses with him. I am in NH and he is coming Sunday to drop them off.
