Best Quality 70 BB rad shroud

Anyone care to comment as to the Best Quality 70 BB 396 radiator shroud? Bought 1 from a Big Camaro Supplier in CA, and I wont name names, but it is a piece of crap, unusable. Is there more than 1 supplier? Thanks.

Re: Best Quality 70 BB rad shroud

Unfortunately the 2nd reproduction big block fan shrould are all absolutely terrible. There is only one company reproducing them. Only the original OEM shrouds look and fit correct. But finding one is very very rare. Also get ready to re motgage your home. They go for over $2K when one shows up. I need one for my 1970 L78 camaro and have been on the hunt for a oem fan shroud also. Unfortunately that's all there are for the 2nd gen camaros. Wish someone could reproduce a good one.

Does this shroud from Classic Muscle look the same as the one you purchased? http://www.classicmuscle.com/p-30186-bb.aspx It suppose to fix 70-72 big blocks with 26" radiators. I looked on Camaro Central website and their shroud looks the same. http://www.camarocentral.com/1970_19...k_p/rad-76.htm

Yes my shroud looks the same, I had heard they were only made by 1 supplier. My repo is made of a Poly Propylene type material unlike the original plastic GM shrouds, it is very thick as well Unless I just got a bad 1, and I would gladly pay double or triple for a Good quality type repo. If the companies are going to make them, why not make a correct one? The one 1 have is all warped and trimmed too much and not even close to fitting. I have been in the restoration trade for 45 years and have seen some pretty bad repo parts but the quality of this repo shroud is a absolute joke. What a waste of money, I would have sent it back but being in Canada I might as well throw it in the trash what with shipping/customs etc. Very Frustrating.

Many Thanks for the replys.
