trim\ cowl tag?

Is there's anyway to get a new one?
I bought 1980 Z28 and there's not tag under the hood. There are 2 screws holes which mean once it had one but no plate.
Is there's any way to get a new one?
I'm going to export it and I have to have it for the costume.

Re: trim\ cowl tag?

It is highly frowned upon in the hot rod community.
There are people who sell "copies" (but people like to "add" stuff that it never had).
Also, some guys can tell a FAKE....I mean "copy"....and that brings up all kinds of red flags, like is the car "real", stolen, ETC.

Re: trim\ cowl tag?

I don't think you have to worry about a car being stolen with a replacement cowl tag. Maybe a VIN tag.

Why would you have to have a cowl tag for export? As long as it has a VIN tag you should be fine.

I agree with Doug, a reproduction cowl tag would make me think you are trying to misrepresent your car (unless the tag is for a plain Jane car lol).

Yes. The owner needs to go to the registry and apply for a new VIN. It probably won't be the same as the original VIN. There will need to be an inspection and possibly other hoops to jump through depending on the state.

I just realized you were describing the trim tag, which like MangeMD said, doesn't seem necessary. I thought you were talking about the VIN.
