Cant get 81 Camaro transferrred

Hello i bought an 81 camaro and im having some trouble getting it through inspection becausse its coming from a different state and the last number of the vin plate is rusted off so they cant confirm it is theree a hidden vin number somewhere or is there a way to replace the vin plate?

There should be a vin under the heater blower motor hole on the firewall. Have to pull the inner fence to see it

I can attest that there is a partial VIN in the blower housing area. It is called the confidential VIN but it's not complete. I had to pull the inner fender off then the blower housing. I have the same situation going on now. I have an out of state car that was re-vined in the state of Vermont. My DMV guy is having a problem with it even though the title has the new VIN on the title. The car was stolen in the early 80's It is supposed to be a 79 but the title has 78 and misspelled Camaro, " Camero" This has been going on for nine months now. What a drag. I have been trying to work with the seller because he never transferred the title to his name. He is going to ask the guy he bought it from for any info like the original VIN. MY DMV guy said they have to put the original VIN back on to move forward. The partial VIN is not good enough for them. WTF.
