Decode

Can someone decode this tag for me? This is a 74 Z-28 I am in the middle of buying. It's a 4 speed rust free car for 11k?

Re: Decode

I bought a 1970 Camaro under the impression it was a Split Bump Z28. The VIN doesn't tell you much, but the same tag under the hood up near the driver side window has all the information you need. The guys on the website nastyz28.com have a vast amount of data to use when decoding or identifying second gen Camaros. To my dismay the Camaro I bought is a 1970 (1970 1/2 some call them); however the ID Tag on mine does not have the Z28 stamp. The "53 53 " is the color on color code. Not sure what 53 is, but as I stated before. Check out the Nasty28 web site and spend a few days browsing the massive amounts of info. Hope this helps

Re: Decode

Thanks for the help. I have always thought that you can tell a real split bumper car by the park lights. If they are round, split bumper. If they are under the bumper and long, full bumper? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Decode

I don't know a ton about 74 Zs, but did they have the Type LT badging as well like this one does?
edit: I guess it's not the same one (link below) unless they painted the wheels. The wheels aren't the same color. Quite a few differences under the hood too. Pretty close twin though.

Re: Decode

I don't think it's the same car, but looks just like it. The one I was looking at was on ebay with a buy price of 14,995.00.
