Brought the 79 Z up from FL finally

Finally got sick of saying we were lucky with that hurricane again... I drove down and trailered the Z back this weekend. The humidity was ridiculous. My trailer tires did not like the Florida heat either. I ended up with two catastrophic blow outs. One on the way down and one on the way back. Two new tires while I was down there and two in KY on the way back. Still somehow ended up with a flat the morning after I got home... Bah.
She's a 79 Z with a crate '91 LS6 454 doctored a little. Turbo Action T400. Currie 9" w/ 4.11s. It hasn't been tubbed etc.
Here are some pics:

Thanks Everett. I actually didn't just buy it. We bought this one when I was home on leave back in '93. It was just at our house down in FL.

Re: Brought the 79 Z up from FL finally

A few pics from recent clean ups.

The subframe connectors work well. One of the jack stands was one click higher than the other lol

New throttle mounting plate.

I believe the rockers are Harland Sharpe. They look like it anyhow. Can anyone confirm?

Turbo Action T400

MSD 7AL box. I have some wire re-dressing to do.

New master cylinder yesterday. Changed out the flex lines too because the brakes didn't want to bleed.

Test fit of some M/T street slicks. Yes, they're reversed side to side...

Re: Brought the 79 Z up from FL finally

Thanks guys. I scored a nice brand new 50-800hp dual stage Nitrous Express system this weekend that might need to find its way on to the Z. I might replace the NOS system when I redo the fuel system in the spring. She's tucked away for the winter right now. Too many other projects going...
Here's a couple of generic pics of the system put together. Better than looking a closed blister pack I think...

Nice system, if you use it, you could remove the two inch spacer and install a right angle fitting on plate for throttle linkage clearance.
Having a 2 inch spacer with nos is not needed, I believe.
Yes, winter projects

That is definitely one of the things I had in mind. The spacer is actually an adapter. The intake is a 4500 pattern and the rest is 4150. A Dominator should go back on it anyway. It's a Holley 750 right now and it should have a 950 or 1050 Dominator. It ran 10.6 in the 1/4 the last time it was at the track. There's a lot of untapped potential left for minimal effort.

Yep, that's my 69 SS396. I've posted quite a bit about it. Here's a link to my build thread. Unfortunately a lot of the pics disappeared with the screwing we took from Photobucket. I replaced a lot of them, but if there's something you'd like to see, let me know and I'll post some pics.
