What can I use off of a 79 to a 70?

Ok so I’m rebuilding a 1970 Camaro and to buy all new parts is a lot of money for me to spend. But I found a 1979 Camaro that was being rebuilt and they person had bought all the parts for it but ran into money problems he is selling it for a really good deal and I want to know what I can part out from it to use on my 70. like can I use the seats or the dash or even the wiring harness because he bought a new one. ( also just to let everyone know who answers this I am only 19 this is my first car that I am rebuilding so trying to do it right is my first priority but if I can save some money on parts that will fit and not cause problems would be really nice because I don’t make a lot of money.)

The dash got changed in 79. So it is different, but might fit. That is something you are going to have to try. The 79 dash is more square , and the 78 and earlier is more round. My gut tells me you can probably use the 79, but will have to use all the 79 dash parts, like glovebox and gauge cluster. If you do indeed use the 79 dash cluster then you can use the harness for the dash. The engine harness and the front light harness will probably work too. The rear light harness will work with modification. The back glass is different, but the rest will work. The doors will fit, but the window cranks and door handles are in a different location. This means you will have to use the 79 door panels. The hood and trunk lid will work. The spoiler on the rear will work, but will not be correct. The fenders are different, but you can swap the entire front clip. It will work, but then you will have a in essence 79 Camaro with the small chrome rear bumper. Lots will change over, but it will not be as cool as a true 70

IMHO it would be best to pass on using the 70 parts.

Better to find the right parts. I may cost more and it may take longer but you;ll be happier in the end.
