Is it a real Z/28??

My son is looking at buying a 94 Z/28. The car is sound, but I am not as familiar with this gen as I am the earlier cars. The serial number is:
2G1FP22PXR2149869
Can someone help me out here with some tips on how to verify that this is truly a Z/28
Thanks guys - Scott

You can use carfax for the free portion they offer and it will decode some of the vin and tell you if it started life as a Z28. There was no base model V8 4th gen camaro so if it has a factory V8 (LT1 in this case) it's a Z28.

Re: Is it a real Z/28??

Easy way to check is by opening the driver's door and looking for the RPO code decal on the door jamb. It should have "Z28" on it.

not exactly true

ALL B4C "police cars" were a base model Camaro WITH a V8

SAME features as the Z28 (running gear, suspension, etc) just NOT a Z28, no emblems

Re: Is it a real Z/28??

Ya got me on that one Jim, with only 2 engines available (a V6 and a V8) and not many more than 650 B4C's in '94 odds are good if it's a V8 car it's one of the 36,000+ Z28's. It would be cool if it was a B4C...
