Inputs please...

Hello All!
I have a '95 Camaro (3.4L V6) that's starting to show some age. The body is in good shape but the engine is starting to show how old it is and how many miles that I've put on it.
It's not that the car is super fancy or a show winner, but it holds a lot of sentimental value.
I'm afraid that the engine is going to give up soon. I was thinking of pulling the original and putting a crate engine in it's place. What reccomendations do you have on engine size that works with the stock transmission or is replacing the tranny something I'll have to do as well.

Thanks!

if i were you i would install the v8 engine with 4l60e or the 6speed m. sine it fits perfectly, also if you want to chek out, in summitracing.com they got crate engines and pacages. later

Re: Inputs please...

Take a look around you local junk yards or local papers that might have some lt1 camaro or trans ams that were wrecked and still have a usable engine and tranny. This will be your cheepest way of finding something that will work for you.

Re: Inputs please...

keep in mind that converting to a fuel injected v8 takes knowledge and tools...you`re in cali, so smog is a big concern also...in your case, i`d put a crate v6 in, and look for a v8 car to start with...that way, the harness and basics are all there...(i wasnt slamming...just stating, as i have no knowledge of your skill level)

Re: Inputs please...

that's what i was kinda thinking about kustom... my v6 is just old... it's literally run me from one side of this country to the next (I'm military). So, off to look for the perfect V8 car to start workin on!

thanks for the inputs!!
